Bulk Electric System.

The core of the Bulk Electric System (BES) is defined by the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) as “… all Transmission Elements operated at 100kV or higher and Real Power and Reactive Power connected at 100kV or higher. This does not include facilities in the local distribution of electrical energy.”
