Volt Amperes Reactive.

When the current and voltage in an AC circuit are not in phase, reactive power is present. VAR is the reactive power unit of measurement. In this type of circuit, the Apparent Power is specified in Volt-Amps, the real power in Watts, and the Reactive power in VAR (Volt-Amp-Reactance).
