On April 9th and 10th, 2019, CEATI held its annual Protection and Control (P&C) Conference in Los Angeles. The Centre for Energy Advancement through Technological Innovation (CEATI) is a user-driven organization committed to providing technology solutions to its electrical utility participants, who are brought together to collaborate and act jointly to advance the industry through the sharing and developing of practical and applicable knowledge.

Wayne Hartmann, Beckwith Electric’s Senior VP of Customer Excellence, spoke the on application of DeltaVAR Power Transformer Paralleling, and discussed the classic paralleling applications in use today. He also highlighted the application flexibility of DeltaVAR Paralleling for use with transformers having mismatches in ratings, impedances and source impedances to the limits discussed in IEEE C57.12.00, “IEEE Standard for General Requirements for Liquid-Immersed Distribution, Power, and Regulating Transformers.” DeltaVAR paralleling easily handles more standard applications as well, making it an ideal paralleling method for standardization. DeltaVAR Paralleling opens up new possibilities to parallel transformers previously deemed impossible, and as such, is a Smart Grid application.
