Largo, Florida – September 18, 2012 – Beckwith Electric, a leading power and automation technology company, is pleased to announce the appointment of David C. Aldrich as the Central U.S. Regional Sales and Applications Manager.

Mr. Aldrich brings over thirty years’ experience in the electrical utilities and commercial power industry to his new role with Beckwith Electric. He is taking over the position formerly held by Hugo Monterrubio, who was promoted to Senior Marketing Manager earlier this year.

As Central U.S. Regional Sales and Applications Manager, Mr. Aldrich is responsible for providing technical solutions based on his power system expertise. He will also work closely with customers on electric power system applications of Beckwith Electric’s technology, integrating that with technologies of others where necessary to provide appropriate solutions. At the same time, Mr. Aldrich will ensure full sales support by assisting customers in the Central U.S. Sales District with product specifications and applications.

Mr. Aldrich’s background includes managing and directing engineering operations for a number of major electrical utilities and commercial engineering firms dealing with transmission and distribution controls and automation systems, as well as extensive marketing and sales experience. He spent eight years of his career as a Senior Engineer with Texas Power and Light Co., six years as a manager with TU Electric, a Texas based investor owned utility, involved with distribution information systems, statistical analysis of rate designs, and tariffs, and twelve years with the Kerrville Public Utility Board as Chief System Engineer. From there he went on to become Vice President of Origin GeoSystems, Inc., a graphical information-system software development company for modeling electrical distribution systems. Following that, he joined Schneider Engineering, LTD., as Manager of Substation Protection and Control. Finally, before joining Beckwith Electric, Mr. Aldrich was National Sales Manager for CG Automation Solutions USA, Inc., directing development and sales for T&D SCADA systems and software.

Mr. Aldrich is a graduate of Texas A&M University, holding a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, with emphasis on Power Systems. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE Power Engineering Society and past president of the Central Texas Chapter. In addition, Mr. Aldrich is a member of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers and past president of their Central Texas Chapter. Mr. Aldrich is also a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas.
