Largo, Florida – April 2, 2013 – Beckwith Electric, a leading power and automation technology company, has received certification from Laboratorio de Pruebas de Equipos y Materiales (LAPEM) for its advanced distribution grid solutions including the M-6200A Digital Voltage Regulator Control, M-6280A Single Phase Digital Capacitor Bank Control, and M-6283 Three Phase Digital Capacitor Bank Control.

LAPEM is the certifying agency for Comision Federal de Electricidad (CFE) which operates 13 regional branches providing electricity for nearly all of Mexico. Certification by LAPEM is required for any product to be used on the CFE grid. The lengthy certification process included registration and an extensive audit of Beckwith Electric.

Beckwith Electric’s field-proven advanced distribution grid solutions provide huge energy savings and increased power delivery capacity by incorporating the latest technologies in microprocessor architecture and communications. Features include real time power quality monitoring capable of detecting damaging harmonics, sags, swells, faults, and sub-synchronous transients with massive nonvolatile memory for data recording including adherence to CBEMA voltage waveform criteria. Beckwith Electric utilizes advances in cutting-edge communications technology providing maximum flexibility in the use of ports, protocols and media.

“We are excited to be providing Beckwith Electric’s advanced distribution grid solutions to Mexico. LAPEM Certification clears the way for Beckwith Electric products to be used and standardized through Mexico,” said Hugo Monterrubio, Senior Marketing Manager of Beckwith Electric.
