Largo, Florida – April 27, 2012 – Beckwith Electric, a leading power and automation technology company, announced today that Clark Shaughnessy is retiring on April 27, 2012.

Clark joined Beckwith Electric in 1999. He is the Customer Technical Support Manager, responsible for managing and directing Beckwith Electric’s technical support services. He is also the Regional Sales Manager for Asia. Before his association with Beckwith Electric, Clark worked in the electric power industry for 30 years, primarily dealing with transmission and distribution system protection and control apparatus.

Clark has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Union College in New York. He is also a graduate of the General Electric Advanced Power System Engineering Course and is a member of the IEEE.

Clark leaves a legacy of dedication, great leadership, and outstanding ability to solve difficult problems. Beckwith Electric appreciates Clark’s years of hard work and he will be sorely missed. Dr. Murty Yalla, President of Beckwith Electric, said, “I am extremely impressed with Clark’s ability to handle very complex and challenging Protective Relay application issues. Clark is an expert in conducting postmortem analysis of power system faults and other events; he provided world-class service to our customers by going above and beyond what is expected. His dedication and world class application support helped grow sales in Asia by more than 800% during the past 12 years”. Clark will continue to help Beckwith Electric as a part time consultant.

Clark readily accepted the challenges presented during his long career and earned the opportunity he has now to spend more time with his family and friends, and pursuing his other interests. When asked the usual question about his retirement plans, Clark said, “I’m just going to relax and enjoy time with my family.”
