Accounting: Registration and Receipts
  • Q. How do I register for the Protection & Control Seminar?
    • A. You can register online up until the registration deadline. We do not offer on-site registration.
  • Q. What are the payment options?
    • A. Our online registration system accepts payment via credit card. If you require payment via a check or invoice, please select the “Offline” payment option during registration.
      • Make checks payable to: Hubbell Power Systems, Inc.
      • Must include “Beckwith 63123300-657000” and your registration reference number on the memo line.
      • Payment must be received on or before July 5, 2024, to attend.

  • Q. Do you offer group discounts?
    • A. Yes, 12% group discount is offered for two or more attendees from the same organization. Please note, you must register all attendees from one organization together to qualify for the discount.
  • Q. How can I get a receipt for my registration payment?
    • A. Your registration confirmation email includes the amount paid and acts as your receipt. Contact us if your accounting department requires something additional.
  • Q. Can I update my registration once I have submitted it?
    • A. You can. To manage your information and view your history, you need to claim your account and set a password. Click here to learn more.
Attendee Guests
  • Q. Which events can my guests attend with me?
    • A. If you plan on traveling with a family member, spouse or significant other, each guest needs to purchase a “Companion Guest Pass” if planning to attend breakfast and lunch with you.
    • The seminar meals are optimized for the number of registered attendees and guests only. This is to ensure that we order enough food plus seating.
    • The Companion Guest Pass must be purchased before the registration deadline and these are not sold on-site at the seminar.

  • Q. Can my guests come to breakfast and lunch with me?
    • A. Yes, but if you plan on traveling with a family member, spouse or significant other, each guest needs to purchase a “Companion Guest Pass” if planning to attend breakfast and lunch with you. The breakfast and lunch are optimized for the number of registered seminar attendees and registered guests only.
  • Q. Can my guests attend sessions with me?
    • A. No, your registration allows for only you to attend sessions. A companion guest pass does not include access to the seminar sessions and cannot be purchased for a business colleague(s).
  • Q. How much does the Companion Guest Pass cost?
    • A. The Companion Guest Pass is $200 and includes breakfast and lunch for each day of the seminar, plus all evening activities. Please note that the Companion Guest Pass must be purchased before the registration deadline and these are not sold on-site at the seminar. This is to ensure that we order enough breakfast and lunch plus seating for the number of registered attendees and guests.
Cancellations & Substitutions
  • Q. Are substitutions permitted?
    • A. Yes. There is no cost if you would like to substitute one attendee for another. Contact us online to make the substitution.
  • Q. What is your cancellation policy?

    • A. Exceptions are made on a case-by-case basis involving situations of personal or family emergency. Contact us for more information.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs) or Professional Development Hour (PDHs)
  • Q. What is a CEU?
    • A. The Continuing Education Unit (CEU) is a currency that measures a person’s participation in a formal, non-credit continuing education program, such as a workshop, seminar, tutorial, or self-study course. Courses approved by IEEE for awarding CEUs meet strict requirements for course exercises, assessments, and evaluations. If you are a licensed engineer or maintain a professional license issued by a society, an association, an occupational licensing board or a department of professional regulation within your state, you may be eligible to earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for your participation in the Protection & Control Seminar.
  • Q. What is a PDH?
    • A. The Professional Development Hour (PDH) is a currency that measures a person’s participation in a formal, non-credit continuing education program, such as a workshop, seminar, tutorial, and self-study course. It also measures non-formal learning events such as attending speaker events, learning tours, and webinars.
  • Q. How do I receive Continuing Education Units (CEUs) or Professional Development Hours (PDHs)?
    • A. If you want to receive CEUs or PDHs, please let us know on your online registration form or contact us online (Before the start of the seminar).
  • Q. How can I find out what my state’s continuing education requirements for license renewal are?
  • Q. After completion of the course, how soon are the CEU certificates sent to the participants, and how are they transmitted?
    • A. CEU certificates are emailed direct from IEEE to attendees usually within 15 business days after the end of the seminar. At the conclusion of the seminar, you will receive a “Certificate of Attendance” indicating the actual number of contact hours you accrued at the seminar. It is your responsibility to compile all necessary paperwork and provide it to the appropriate licensing board or professional organization with whom you are certified, and to confirm this program content is acceptable based on their individual standards.
Dress Code
  • Q. What is the dress code?
    • A. Resort casual or business casual attire will get you through the entire seminar from general sessions to receptions. Please remember meeting rooms tend to be chilly so it is a good idea to bring a sweater or jacket with you. Wear what makes you comfortable!

  • Q. Who do I contact if I need help before the start of the Protection & Control Seminar?

    • A. At the seminar, the Help Desk will be open 7 AM-5 PM on Monday. Tuesday through Thursday, the Help Desk will be open 7:30 AM-5 PM.

 

Hotel Accommodations & Venue
  • Q. Where does the Protection & Control Seminar take place?
  • Q. Does the registration cost include hotel accommodations?
    • A. Attendees are responsible for securing their own hotel accommodations and for all lodging costs. Cancellation of hotel reservations and/or any travel expenses incurred are the responsibility of each individual. Visit the Accommodations webpage for additional details.
  • Q. Are there special hotel room rates as part of the seminar?
    • A. Yes! Beckwith Electric has secured discounted rates for seminar participants. You have to be registered for the seminar in order to take advantage of the negotiated rates. Visit the Accommodations webpage for additional details.
  • Q. How do I make changes or cancel my hotel room reservation?
  • Q. The Protection & Control Seminar hotel block is full (or full on some days) and I cannot get the rate for my entire stay, what can I do?
    • A. Each year, our room block does fill up and the hotel sells out. For the best opportunity, secure your hotel reservation as early as possible. If the hotel’s reservation website shows no availability of the rate, be sure to call the hotel direct. The hotel can often help with securing the rate on days where the rate is still available.
  • Q. Is there Wireless Internet Access?
    • A. Complimentary wifi access is provided to seminar attendees is available throughout the hotel.
International Attendees
  • Q. Are you traveling to the United States and require a Visa?
    • A. Apply early if you are traveling to the United States and require a Visa. Beckwith Electric recommends that all interested individuals planning on attending begin this process 4 to 6 months in advance. More information on applying for a Visa.
Meals
  • Q. What meals are included with my seminar registration?
    • A. Four breakfasts and lunches (Monday-Thursday) are included in your registration. We also have food and beverages at our evening receptions.
  • Q. What if I have some dietary restrictions/special needs?
    • A. Every effort is made to ensure seminar meals accommodate a wide range of dietary preferences; however, due to vendor limitations, not all dietary restrictions can be accommodated.
Seminar Check-in
  • Q. When and where do I pick up my badge and seminar materials?
    • A. Please check-in for the seminar and pick-up your badge and seminar materials sometime between 6 PM-8 PM on Sunday, or 7 AM-8 AM on Monday, at the Beckwith Electric Help Desk.
Special Accommodations
  • Q. What do I do if I need special accommodations?
    • A. Should you require special considerations (i.e. handicapped access), please notify us in advance, before the seminar registration deadline, so that we may accommodate your needs. Please contact us with any special requests.
Transportation & Parking
  • Q. Do I make my own travel arrangements to attend the Protection & Control Seminar?
    • A. Yes. Each attendee is responsible for making their own hotel and travel arrangements. Visit the Accommodations webpage for additional details on area airports.
  • Q. How can I get from the airport to the seminar hotel?
  • Q. Do I need to rent a car?
    • A. We do not recommend that you rent a car. Once you get to the hotel, everything is in close walking distance.
